On Friday I had a meeting and lunch at Quaglino’s the Conran owned restaurant in Bury Street, St James. Nothing wrong with the food really but the odd part were the biscuits served during the meeting. We had an attractive private room for about 16 of us, with waiters unctuously dispensing tea and coffee but they served a collection of British joke biscuits.
Either the chef had forgotten to get a lackey to hand craft the shortbread and petit four, so had nipped down to Morrisons, or we were in some very retro joke as we ‘feasted’ on Jammy Dodgers, Bourbons, Rich Tea and Funny Faces. It’s hard to keep a straight face when the Marketing Director of a global services company asks you if you’d like a Funny Face
Mr Ambassador you’re spoiling us
